Philip Shapira is Professor of Innovation Management and Policy with the Manchester Institute for Innovation Research at the Alliance Manchester Business School, University of Manchester, UK, and also Professor of Public Policy (Part-Time) at Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, USA.
His interests encompass science and technology policy, economic and regional development, innovation management and policy, industrial competitiveness, technology trajectories and assessment, innovation measurement, and policy.
He holds a PhD in City and Regional Planning from the University of California, Berkeley. He is a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.
In March 2024, Philip Shapira was inducted as a Turing Fellow with The Alan Turing Institute.
